Thieves broke into the Town Halls of four rural villages in the early hours of Thursday morning, and stole various items ranging from keys to municipal vehicles to portable computers. The incidents occurred in Cartajima, Parauta, Pujerra and Igualeja, all of which are only a few kilometres distant from each other and are in the Valle del Genal, in the Ronda area. The same people are believed to have carried out all the robberies, but were very careful to cause as little damage as possible, only using force to gain entry to the buildings. The Guardia Civil are asking local residents to contact them if they heard or saw anything strange on Wednesday night, or if they saw anybody who does not live locally wandering about, because as none of the villages has more than 1,000 inhabitants, strangers are easily spotted.
