TWO MEN KILLED IN BULL RUN

Two men were killed in Ampuero, Cantabria, during a bull run which was to close the town's annual feria last Sunday. Ampuero is a small town and the bullfights held in honour of its patron saint, the Virgen Nina de Ampuero, usually use novillos - young bulls weighing less than 300 kilos. This year, two of the bulls turned out to be full-grown five-year-olds weighing 500 and 520 kilos each. In addition to the two men who died, another 12 were injured, three of them seriously. The bulls also broke down garage doors during their rampage on the way to the bull ring.
