A woman from Málaga could face a jail sentence and a hefty fine if found guilty of accessing and using a colleague's email address. Although other cases such as this have been reported to the police this is the first time the Málaga prosecution authorities have proposed a jail sentence for allegedly contravening a person's right to privacy. The woman is said to have discovered her colleague's password, entered into her email address and then changed the password. She is accused of having pretended to be her colleague, sent emails in her name, and 'chatted' by Messenger to her friends and fellow workers. The case is due to come to court in July, and if found guilty the accused could be sent to jail for 18 months and ordered to pay 3,240 euros.
