STRANGEST TRAFFIC OFFENCE

The Ideal Gallego newspaper reported one of the strangest traffic offences ever seen in Spain last week when drivers on the Ferrol motorway were amazed to see a disabled man traipsing along it in his motorised bed. Apparently Antonio Navarro, aged 42 and 95% disabled, was drunk and heading for a local whorehouse when he took a wrong turning off a local roundabout. He decided to continue along the road so as not to put other drivers in danger. Sr Navarro, who drives and controls his motorised bed with his mouth, was finally stopped by police at 9 pm after he had travelled some 10 kilometres along the motorway. He told them that the signs on the roundabout and in the town desperately needed to be improved.
