Edition 526
An Italian man goes on trial this week in Malaga accused of relieving customers of a shoe shop in the Avenida de Andalucia of more than 110,000 euros. He opened the shop in 2003 under a false name, to sell Italian shoes at a very good price. During that period, he obtained the credit card numbers of 63 clients which enabled him to dip into their bank accounts. Meanwhile, he failed to pay 9,000 euros to two companies that installed the shop's computer system and issued false cheques to purchase 27,000 euros worth of jewellery and watches. He is also charged with hiring a foreign shop assistant without the necessary work permit.
