After it looked as if the winter would never end, Malaga city had its hottest day of the year so far last week - 33ºC last Friday. The weathermen say the heat is here to stay, which will please residents and tourists - but there is down side. Estepona suffered its first forest fire of the year last Friday, when flames destroyed 15 hectares of pine forest. The blaze started at a visitors' spot overlooking the Guadalmansa river.
