A new northern access road linking with the A-357 is to be built in Álora. The project was officially made public by the council and the regional government last week, but no date has yet been set for the works to commence. The project is likely to be put to tender at the end of this year, and is expected to cost about 2.8 million euros. This is an important project for Álora, as at present there is only one rudimentary connection with the main road, and it isn't possible to turn in the Málaga direction or in the direction of the town if coming from the Campillos direction. The works will be complicated as the new road will have to cross a stream, but the plans include a bridge with a roundabout at each end to overcome the problem.
