Police in Benalmadena arrested an off-duty National policeman after they stopped him for dangerous driving last week. He refused to be breathalysed and when he realised he was going to be arrested he assaulted one of the policeman and had to be reduced by force. He spent the night in jail and was charged the next day with disobedience, resisting arrest, attacking a policeman and dangerous driving. The policeman, who was transferred to Malaga from Valencia just over a year ago, has been arrested twice before in that time - for causing a disturbance in a bank and for domestic violence. He was arrested once in Valencia before his transfer.
