Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar returned from last week’s visit to the U.S.A. with good news for the Spanish aviation industry: the American authorities have decided to buy two CN235-300M maritime patrol planes from a Spanish manufacturer for 130 million dollars (about 113 million euros). This is the first stage of a contract which could be worth 2,000 million dollars, and is the first time Spanish military planes have been purchased by the U.S.
